Floriade 2012 is a Horticulture Trade Mission to the The Netherlands. The Netherlands plays a significant role within the European Union in international horticultural trade. The country has developed an outstanding technology level, also exported to many countries all over the world. In 2010, total production amounted to $10 billion, of which $6.8 billion was from ornamental horticulture and $2.7 billion from nutritional horticulture. Exports (including re-export) amounted to 15.5. billion euros (approx. $20.38 billion). The Netherlands accounts for 70 percent of EU trade in ornamental plant products and 60 percent of global trade in ornamental products, while its share for flower bulbs is more than 90 percent.

  • Australia & New Zealand Inbound Trade Mission - Fancy Food Show - The Inbound Trade Mission brings Australian buyers into the U.S. to the Fancy Food Show in Washington D.C. in June. These buyers are chosen by their previous participation in the Fine Food Australia Show in Sydney. This mission allows these buyers to see first hand companies in the U.S. at the trade show in D.C. before traveling to Tennessee and West Virginia. Accommodations such as room and transportation are paid for by SUSTA. The only expenses the buyer will incur are meals and other miscellaneous items.

  • Canadian Horticulture Inbound Trade Mission - Tennessee and Florida Departments of Agriculture will be hosting a reverse trade mission that involves Horticulture buyers from Canada.  The trade mission will begin in Southern Florida and continue throughout the week with visits in Tennessee.  The delegation will visit various nurseries in the states to have meetings and discuss opportunities for exports.
