 Eligible Items - Goats

  1. Bucks - registered - $350 maximum per buck
    • Fullblood
    • Purebred
  2. AI
    • Semen from eligible bucks
    • Semen tanks, supplies & equipment
    • AI fees
  3. Testing – by Tennessee licensed veterinarian
    • BSE
    • Pregnancy testing

Eligible Items - Sheep

  1.  Rams (registered) - $350 maximum per ram
    • RR results for the Scrapie Codon 171 Genotype test
    • NN results for the Spider Syndrome Genotype test
  2. AI
    • Semen from eligible rams
    • Semen tanks, supplies & equipment
    • AI fees
  3. Testing – by Tennessee licensed veterinarian
    • Breeding soundness evaluation (BSE)
    • Pregnancy testing

 

Requirements - Bucks and Rams

  1. Physical Examination or BSE
    –     Must be completed within 90 days of purchase or reimbursement by a licensed veterinarian
  2. Official Identification - breed registry tattoo, microchip or scrapie tag
  3. Pedigree
    –     Bucks – registered Fullblood or Purebred
    –     Rams – registered
  4. Genotype test results – Rams must be clean for Scrapie and Spider genes
