TENNESSEE ARTS COMMISSION ANNOUNCES DATE FOR QUARTERLY MEETING
NASHVILLE - - The Tennessee Arts Commission will hold its final quarterly meeting for Fiscal Year 2007 in Nashville, Thursday, June 7. The meeting will be held at the Commission’s office at 401 Charlotte Avenue, and will be divided in two sessions. The first session will start at 11 a.m. (CST)
According to Stephanie Barger Conner, chair of the Commission, the morning agenda will include reports on the Commission’s Strategic Plan, Web site update, Southern Arts Federation Touring Grants, and the American Masterpieces Project with the Fisk Jubilee Singers. Other reports will be provided by the Tennessee State Museum committee, and Tennesseans for the Arts President Jim Brooks will provide an update on advocacy activities. The nominating committee will present a recommended slate of officers for Fiscal Year 2008.
Commission members completing five-year terms will be honored during a special luncheon at 12 noon in the TAC Gallery. Commission members retiring include outgoing Commission chair Stephanie Barger Conner of Nashville, Susan Brock of Chattanooga, and Jean Gilbert of Clarksville.
The afternoon session begins approximately at 1:30 p.m. (CST) with the agenda devoted to recommendations from the allocations Committee for funding in the next fiscal year.
The Commission’s quarterly meetings are open to the public.
