Tennessee Arts Commission To Hold Quarterly Meeting In Nashville
NASHVILLE - - The Tennessee Arts Commission will hold its next quarterly meeting Thursday, December 8 at 10 a.m. (CT) in Nashville at the Commission office, 401 Charlotte Avenue.
According to Ellen Hays, chair of the Commission, the meeting agenda will include reports on the work of the Audit Committee, Interboard Committee for Arts Education, and the Interboard Committee for Community Design. The Commission is exploring how the agency can be involved in design in Tennessee communities through the Community Design Committee. The Arts Education Interboard Committee will report on arts integration efforts, including the Create2012: Creativity in Education statewide conference scheduled for this summer at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.
Representatives from Tennesseans for the Arts (TFTA) will report on the development of the new arts specialty license plate. A report will be provided from the Executive Director Search Committee. The Commission’s executive director will retire on January 31, 2012, and a committee has been formed to review applications for the position and to appoint a new executive director.
A legislative update will be presented by Molly Pratt, government and community relations consultant for TFTA.
Other items on the agenda include a report on grants offered through the Commission, and a discussion of the FY2013 State Budget.
The Tennessee Arts Commission meets quarterly, and meetings are open to the public.
