During 1995–2003, the Council worked to establish 11 resource centers (10 of which are still active) for licensed child care providers in all 95 Tennessee Counties. These centers provided information about developmentally appropriate practice, health and safety, and inclusion of children with disabilities in licensed child care centers across Tennessee.

These Child Care Resource Centers are managed by the Department of Human Services.
