Projects and Initiatives

“Self-advocacy” refers to the practice of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities speaking up for themselves, making choices about their lives, and expressing their preferences and opinions. The Council has funded and been a leader in a number of projects and initiatives related to supporting the leadership development of individuals with disabilities and their families and the promotion of self-advocacy education, training and supports.
