If you have Medicare coverage, you do not need to enroll in an Affordable Care Act Marketplace plan.
If you have Medicare, you do not need to purchase health insurance through the Marketplace. Your Medicare coverage, whether received through a Medicare Advantage plan or through original Medicare, isn't changing because of the Affordable Care Act and the Marketplaces. You will still need to review your Medicare coverage during the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15-December 7th for your 2014 coverage. The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency has made the following announcement:
"MDHA is accepting applications for the agency’s elderly-only public housing communities for a month beginning Wednesday. [November 20, 2013]
"Jerry Seay, director of asset management for MDHA, said a shortage of applicants for the properties, which are open to anyone who will be aged 62 by December 31, 2013, has necessitated a solicitation for more."

Medicare open enrollment has ended, but it is still important to keep in mind potential scams that tend to arise during the enrollment season. Watch out for "door-to-door salespersons." Insurance agents cannot solicit business for Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage without an appointment, so unscheduled sales meetings are probably a scam.
