Mrs. Ludell Coffey was employed for 31 years with Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service as the CEO. During that time the program grew from one program in one county, serving approximately 135 people a year, to 5 programs in 15 counties serving thousands each year. She worked diligently to increase private and public funding to provide more services to seniors. She also trained and employed many seniors. It was through her commitment and dedication that she was able to obtain funding to build Renaissance Terrace, an affordable assisted living residence.
Mrs. Coffey also worked as a Dental Hygienist for 22 years. She has volunteered her time as Treasurer and Secretary, and Deacon, of her church. She also assists in cooking Wednesday night supper before bible study.
Her qualifications include experience in helping form the Tennessee Association of Homemaker Service Providers and serving as their President for the past 5 years; co-chairing the first statewide Senior Summit in Nashville, TN; active participation in Second District, State of Tennessee, and National levels of Dental Hygienists Associations; serving as the local President and state President; and serving on the National Membership Committee.
Mrs. Coffey attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administration of Health Care Delivery. She also attended the University of Tennessee, Memphis, TN and has a Certificate of Dental Hygiene. Mrs. Coffey now resides in Knoxville, TN with her husband. They have adult children and grandchildren.
