In 1999, the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (T.L.E.T.A.), along with the Department of Safety's Tennessee Highway Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division received national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA ).
