February 8: Corey Batson, MD

Corey Batson M.D. began his medical education at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree at Meharry Medical College, Nashville Tennessee and completed his Family Medicine residency training at the affiliated Nashville General Hospital.

For over a decade, Dr. Batson has made Nashville his home. He is an active faculty member at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine working as a clinician and instructor to future practitioners. Dr. Batson is also a diplomate of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is current with his professional licensures. He is a member and active participant of multiple professional organizations such as the American Society of Addiction Medicine, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Batson has a true passion for medicine and is committed to prioritizing the wellness of his community. He emphasizes forming a genuine relationship with his patients as he guides them through their medical journeys. Away from medicine, Dr. Batson enjoys reading, traveling and most importantly, spending time with his three wonderful children.
