An opening currently exist in Nashville (Davidson County).

The Tennessee Department of Correction is seeking an experienced nurse to coordinate its statewide infection control program. Specific job responsibilities include:

• Surveillance of nosocomial infections and data analysis
• Staff education and training regarding communicable disease management
• Serving as the department's liaison to the state health department
• Assisting in pandemic preparedness planning
• Policy/procedure development and revisions
• Assuring the department's compliance with all state/federal health care regulations

Experience/Knowledge:

The candidate should have:

• At least five years experience as a registered nurse
• Be currently licensed in the State of Tennessee
• Know basic computer skills, including experience in creating spreadsheets
• Have working knowledge of aseptic techniques and training in microbiology surveillance
• Have previous experience managing infection control activities
• Previous experience conducting staff education/training is preferred
