What is Reentry?
Reentry is an all encompassing initiative that includes many pieces of rehabilitative services such as education, religious and volunteer services, correctional counseling, inmate jobs, medical, and mental health services.
The Importance of Reentry
The importance of Reentry is to enhance public safety through a seamless system of care by identifying an offender's risks and needs upon entry into prison and develop a seamless system of care throughout their incarceration, transition, and reentry back into the community.
Correctional Release Centers
The Chattanooga Female Release Center is a partnership between TDOC and Parole and Probation, and The Next Door, a non-profit organization. The Next Door began serving TDOC offenders in March of 2011, and houses 20 offenders, providing short-term reentry services.
The Correctional Release Centers will provide services to offenders that are rooted in evidence-based practices and address the offender's needs as identified by the LS/CMI, a validated risk/needs assessment.
