Jennifer Williams was the Director of In Home Tennessee for DCS prior to becoming Assistant Commissioner of Quality Control.

In Home Tennessee oversees the design, implementation and sustainability of the state’s IV-E Waiver.  DCS through the Title IV-E waiver is implementing services and support programs available both in-home and in foster care/placement services.  The desired outcomes of In Home Tennessee are to improve the quality of casework services by engaging families, connecting with stakeholders in designing and delivering individualized services to meet families’ needs, enhancing families’ capacities to keep children safe, and building organizational capacity to implement system change to meet the needs of families.

Prior to her role with In Home Tennessee, Jennifer was the manager of 20 social work consultants through Middle Tennessee State University.   In this role, she supervised social workers providing professional social work services regarding case management, case consults, and conducting needs assessments utilizing the Child and Adolescent Needs Assessment and the Family Advocacy Support Tool.

She has previous experience as an adjunct Professor with Austin Peay University instructing child welfare classes to undergraduate students participating in the DCS social work stipend program.   Jennifer holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee.  She is a Licensed Advance Practice Social Worker in Tennessee.  Jennifer resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband of 22 years.
