The Northern Middle Tennessee region is composed of urban, suburban and rural counties, including Tennessee's capital city of Nashville. It is the most populous of the nine TNECD regions, and it contains six of the state's 10 fastest growing counties according to the 2010 Census. The region has a vibrant and diverse economy, and it is a national leader in the healthcare services, automotive and music industries.
Before joining TNECD, Mudd was founder and former owner of Precision Coach Interiors, a startup company that builds luxury travel coach interiors. He was also the former Senior Vice- President/ Chief Operations Officer for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
Mudd serves on the Cumberland Region Tomorrow board, Gallatin Economic Development Advisory board, Gallatin Rotary Club board of directors and is chairman of the Sumner Foundation.
Mudd attended Centre College in Danville, Ky. where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government. He resides in Gallatin.
