Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Maplehurst Bakeries, LLC, a division of Weston Foods, officials announced the company will invest $102.8 million to build and equip a new 173,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lebanon. The facility will be located at Central Pike and 840 and create up to 147 new jobs in Wilson County.

  • Tennessee Named Recipient of Area Development's 2015 Gold Shovel Award

     Tennessee has once again ranked among the best states in economic development by Area Development, a leading publication focused on site selection and facility planning. Tennessee, along with Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas, were named recipients of the magazine’s 2015 Gold Shovel Awards in recognition of projects undertaken in 2014 which created a significant number of high-value-added new jobs as well as investment. The Volunteer State last received Gold Shovel awards in 2012 and 2009 and Silver Shovel awards in 2011 and 2010.

Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Worthington Industries officials announced today the company will invest $14.25 million to expand its current operations in Greeneville. Worthington Industries is a market leader in the design and manufacturing of high quality custom-engineered operator cabs for industrial mobile equipment. Through this expansion, the company will add four new product lines and create 140 new jobs in Greene County.

  • Governor Haslam, Commissioner Boyd Announce Resolute Forest Products to Expand Current Operations in Calhoun

    Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Resolute Forest Products U.S., Inc. officials announced the company will invest $270 million to undertake a major expansion at its pulp and paper mill located in Calhoun. Resolute Forest Products, a top global paper products manufacturer, is one of McMinn County’s largest employers and through this expansion, will create 105 new jobs.

  • TNECD Launches Select Tennessee Property Evaluation Program

    The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced today it has launched the Select Tennessee Property Evaluation Program (PEP).  The goal of this new tool is to improve the inventory of industrial sites and buildings in Tennessee by evaluating potential properties and advising counties on where investment may be most beneficial and what steps may be needed to address issues.

Smith announced today that CHS will invest $66 million to expand its current operations in Tennessee by constructing a new Shared Services Center in Nashville. Through this expansion, the national healthcare company will create 1,500 new jobs over the next five years.

    Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Homeland Vinyl officials today announced the company will locate a new manufacturing facility in Surgoinsville, Tennessee. Homeland Vinyl has purchased an existing facility in the Phipps Bend Industrial Park, located at 140 Industrial Dr., where it will manufacture vinyl fence, decking and railing products and accessories. Through this expansion, Homeland Vinyl is expected to create 25 new jobs.

Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Cirrus Aircraft Co-Founder and CEO Dale Klapmeier today announced the company will expand into Tennessee with its new Cirrus Customer Experience Center, called the ‘Vision Center,’ to be located at the McGhee Tyson Airport in Blount County. The new location will create 170 jobs in the Knoxville area and represents a $15 million investment.
