Assessment Educator Opportunities
The department is seeking educators to participate in the ongoing development of the Tennessee assessment program. Participants are needed for the following committees:
- ELA Assessment Committee: Grades 2–8 and EOC courses
- Mathematics Assessment Committee: Grades 2–8 and EOC courses
- Bias Committee: Grades 2–8 and EOC Courses
All interested applicants should complete an online application. The application window will open on Dec. 22 and close on Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. CST. The application, includes a brief description of the responsibilities and time commitment for each committee.
All applicants will be notified of status no later than Jan. 18.

SeekingRange Finders for High School U.S. History
The department is seeking educators to participate in range finding for high school U.S. history. During range finding, educators set the cuts at every score level on each trait of the Tennessee writing rubrics. The papers used to set the cut scores for each trait are known as anchor papers and are used to train content experts in the scoring process. During range finding, educators determine cut score levels based on the Tennessee writing rubrics and identify anchor papers to be used in the scoring process. Range finding will take place in Nashville during the week of March 6.
All interested applicants should complete an online application. The application window will open on Thursday Jan. 12, and close on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
All applicants will be notified of status by Friday, Jan 27.
