On September 19, 2012, the EPA published amendments to the NESHAP for Hard and Decorative Chromium Electroplating and Chromium Anodizing Tanks (40 CFR 63 Subpart N). Changes were made in several areas including emission limits, monitoring standards, recordkeeping, and reporting. Facilities subject to the Chemical Manufacturing rule (40 CFR 63 Subpart 6V) are required to submit a Notification of Compliance Status by October 29, 2012. More information can be found on SBEAP’s Chemical Manufacturing page.

The EPA issued a No Action Assurance Letter (NAA) to establish that they will exercise enforcement discretion to not pursue enforcement action for violations of the initial tune-up deadlines in the final Area Source Boiler rule. The EPA intends to issue the final reconsideration rule prior to any of the compliance dates for existing sources. For details, please see the Area Source NAA Letter.

**NEW Gasoline Distribution NESHAP 6C Video from EPA**
EPA has developed an informational video describing “Stage I" gasoline storage tank filling control requirements resulting from the Federal Gasoline Distribution Facility rule as part of their Air Pollution Training Institute. The video explains what a NESHAP is, why it exists, the general requirements of the 6C rule and which specific businesses are affected. The video is available for viewing online at the EPA APTI Website.
