Home > Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Board Board Characteristics: Nine members: eight appointed by the Governor for four-year terms and one ex officio. Composed of the Commissioner of Environment and Conservation or his designee; one person employed by a private business concern with experience in management of petroleum nominated by the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry; one person employed by a private petroleum concern with experience in management of petroleum nominated by the Tennessee Petroleum Council; one person employed by a private petroleum concern with experience in management of petroleum nominated by the Tennessee Oil Marketers Association; one person who is a representative of environmental interests knowledgeable of management of petroleum products and/or hazardous substances nominated by the Tennessee Environmental Council; one person nominated by the Tennessee Municipal League; one person who is the owner or operator of only one private petroleum underground storage tank facility that has no more than five petroleum underground storage tanks and is not affiliated with the above organizations; and two citizens who are consumers of petroleum products and who are not affiliated with the above organizations.
