Board Characteristics:

Five members: four appointed by the Governor for three-year terms.

 

Members Include:

• Two members shall be currently employed as certified operators, one of whom shall hold a certificate of the highest class issued by the board. The Tennessee Water and Wastewater Association may recommend individuals for this position. The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts may recommend individuals for the other operator position.
• One member representing municipal government may be recommended by the Tennessee Municipal League.
• One member shall be a faculty member of a college, university, or state technical institute whose major field is related to sanitary engineering and may be recommended by the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers.
• The Director of the Division of Water Supply or his designated representative shall serve as ex-officio member.

The statute authorizing this board expires June 30, 2016 and the one-year wind-down period begins.
