Regional Clean Air Partnership (Knoxville Region)

Counties included: Anderson, Blount, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier and Union

The Regional Clean Air Partnership works to advise and educate government, business and industry, educational institutions and the general public on air quality issues. The Partnership operates an Air Alert program, which provides forecasts for unhealthy air quality in Knox and surrounding counties. Air Alerts provide advance warning of days when air quality is expected to become unhealthy and includes actions that everyone can take to reduce air pollution and protect health.

The Regional Clean Air Partnership includes the Knoxville-Knox County Health Department, local government representatives of the eleven member counties, the Knoxville Area Transportation Planning Organization, the Tennessee Department of Health, Alcoa Inc., TVA, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, IdleAire, East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition, AAA of East Tennessee, UT Agricultural Extension Service, and Ijams Nature Center.
