Fleming Training Center

The Fleming Training Center offers advanced classes in a variety of water and wastewater areas. The center also offers assistance to over 4,000 certified operators with their certification and continuing education requirements. The purpose of water and wastewater treatment operator certification is to protect public health by preventing pollution in all water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems, by establishing a program for certification of competency for operators to operate such plants and systems.

The program provides resources to support water and wastewater operators in achieving optimization in energy use and nutrient removal for their facilities through low-and-no-cost measures.

Construction General Permit Supplement Training

The 2026 Tennessee Construction General Permit (CGP) introduces a new Tennessee CGP State Supplement Training requirement for certain individuals who perform construction stormwater inspection and erosion prevention and sediment control (EPSC) activities. The supplement provides training on Tennessee-specific permit requirements and regulatory expectations that are not covered by national inspection training programs.
