The Division of Accounts is very involved in the implementation of Edison, the state's new integrated system that replaces the legacy accounting and payroll systems. The Division has taken the opportunity to incorporate some of the recommendations of a benchmarking consultant study.
One of those recommendations was to centralize answering employees' questions about payroll issues. The Division established a central payroll call center to field those questions and route research issues to technical personnel, reducing the time to answer employees' questions and providing consistent answers.
