Groundbreaking ceremony for the State of Tennessee Data Center
In April 2009, the State broke ground on the construction of a second data center. As the state grows more dependent upon system automation, system downtime has an increasing financial impact on operations and the ability to deliver services to the citizens of Tennessee.
The new data center will increase systems availability, reduce the risk of downtime and shorten recovery time. The new facility will have increased security, redundant equipment and allow for more cost effective disaster recovery options.

Mark Bengel Chief Information Officer
The Office for Information Resources (OIR) provides direction, planning, resources, execution and coordination in managing the information systems needs of the State of Tennessee.
OIR is a division within the Department of Finance & Administration (F&A), guided by Mr. Mark Bengel, Chief Information Officer. OIR's clients primarily consist of State agencies, departments and commissions.
OIR serves as staff to the Information Systems Council (ISC), and under the ISC's guidance, provides technical direction, services, and infrastructure to the State of Tennessee.
