- First Time Tennessee -
$300 - All eligible applicants–those who received
their J.D. from the University of Memphis, University
of Tennessee, Vanderbilt University, the Nashville School
of Law and all ABA-approved law schools. A distinction
will no longer be made between residents and non-residents.
Also, those who received their law
degree from a school outside the U.S.

- No applications will be accepted after January 10 for
the February exam and June 10 for the July exam.
- Refund Policy
- Examination Fee:
Non-transferable. Refundable up to half of the
above fees if written notice of withdrawal
received by FEBRUARY 15 for February exam
or by JULY 15 for July exam.
- No Refunds If Notice of Withdrawal Received after
February 15 for February Exam or July 15 for July
Exam.
- Notice Regarding MPRE Requirement
All first-time applicants for the Tennessee bar examination
are required to achieve a scaled score of 75 on the
MPRE within two (2) years of the first Tennessee bar
exam actually taken. No Temporary Certificate of Eligibility
or license to practice law will be issued to any successful
examinee unless that examinee has fulfilled all requirements
for licensing,
including the MPRE requirement.
