This 5 day, 50+ hour course is designed to provide knowledge and training to develop officers newly assigned to a Special Weapons and Tactics Unit.  This course is also well suited for tactical team leaders, narcotics officers, patrol supervisors, or any officer that desires to increase his/her knowledge and skills in Law Enforcement Tactical Operations.


This course is also designed to give an officer the skills to participate in the response to high-risk situations encountered by tactical units.  The curriculum focuses on developing not just individual physical skills but also critical thinking skills and a team mentality.


COURSE TOPICS:  The class will focus on the basic understanding of S.W.A.T. operations, including: SWAT history, liability issues, physical fitness/wellness, SWAT equipment/weapons, selection, intelligence gathering, rapid deployment/rapid rescue, barricaded persons, high risk warrants, emotionally disturbed people, vehicle and bus assaults, less than lethal applications, noise flash diversionary devices, and close quarter combat shooting concepts.

$300 - State Officers



50+ hours



Students must be certified peace officers in good standing with their agency.  Students must be able to provide agency ID on the first day of class.  There will be a physical evaluation on the afternoon of the first day of class.  This evaluation is NOT pass/fail.
