  • A number of accrediting and regulatory agencies survey each RMHI’s care, practice and standards of safety, including the Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the TDMH Office of Licensure. The ability of each RMHI to provide quality inpatient psychiatric services is evidenced by continuous accreditation, certification, and licensure by these agencies.

    Any concerns regarding patient care and safety at a RMHI should first be directed to the RMHI Chief Executive Officer (see contact information at top of page). If concerns cannot be resolved through the RMHI management, please contact the TDMH by either calling 1-800-560-5767 or by e-mailing OCA.TDMHSAS@tn.gov.
  • If concerns are not adequately resolved by either the RMHI management or TDMH, the public may contact the Joint Commission to report any concerns or register complaints by calling 1-800-994-6610, e-mailing complaint@jointcommission.org or accessing the Joint Commission's web site at http://www.jointcommission.org/report_a_complaint.aspx .
