The Department of Commerce and Insurance has issued two insurance Bulletins in 2013. The first, related to Licensing and/or Registration Requirements and Permitted Activities (“Source of Funds”), was issued on May 22, 2013, and addresses questions as to where the line is drawn between providing insurance advice and investment/securities advice.
The second Bulletin, related to Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment and Guaranteed Issue Violations, was issued on July 29, 2013, and addresses actions by Medicare supplement issuers that the Department will consider as violations of Tennessee State law and regulations.
