Nashville, Tennessee --- Lost your driver license and need a replacement? Have you moved and need a driver license with your new address? No need to drive to your local driver license station, now you can drive online! The Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) has added duplicates to its online suites of services making it even easier for citizens to take care of their driver license needs.

"With the department's web-based services, we've created a virtual driver license station, only without the lines," said Department of Safety Commissioner Fred Phillips. "This virtual driver license station is open 24 hours a day including holidays and weekends."

Anyone who needs to replace his or her license can now safely and securely obtain a duplicate license via the Internet. With a credit or debit card, motorists with a valid Tennessee driver license can serve themselves any time of the day or night. The cost of a duplicate driver license ranges from $8-$12. TDOS does not charge extra for online transactions.

In addition to ordering a duplicate, several other driver license services are also available online. The department's online driver license suite of services includes:

  • Renewal of Driver License/IDs
  • Change of Address
  • Reinstatement of driving privileges (canceled, suspended or revoked status)
  • Order a Duplicate Driver License/ID

The online process is simple. Log onto www.tennesseeanytime.org/tndlr/, click the driver license service you need and enter the required information. To ensure the safety and security of drivers, specific personal information is required for each transaction. Helpful information about the process is also posted on the website along with a help line phone number. For some services, you must have a current digital image on file with the department.

"The department is committed to more open, accessible and efficient customer service", added Commissioner Phillips. "With the online driver license services, we're making it easier for citizens to conduct business with us when it's convenient for them."
