TDOS & Tennessee Donor Services Team Up for Life in Knoxville

Nashville, Tennessee --- The Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) and Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) will “team up for life” and host a Donor Designation Booth at the Driver License Center located at 207 Center Park Drive in Knoxville. TDS representatives and driver license examiners will be on hand to register residents and answer questions on how they can become an organ and tissue donor.

April is National Donate Life Month. Currently, there are 2,000 Tennesseans and nearly 98,000 people nationwide who are on the waiting list for a life-saving transplant. Tennesseans can register to be an organ donor by simply checking YES on the application when applying for or renewing a driver license.

The Tennessee Department of Safety's mission is (www.tennessee.gov/safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
