MEDIA ADVISORY

Nashville, Tennessee --- Department of Safety Commissioner Dave Mitchell has placed Trooper Micah Board on administrative leave with pay effective Friday, October 3, 2008, pending an on-going investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and the THP Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

This action comes after the Department of Safety received an external complaint against Trooper Board. The allegations include possible criminal violations and possible violations of departmental policies and procedures.

On Friday, October 3, 2008, investigators with the THP Criminal Investigations Division (CID) initiated a formal investigation of possible criminal violations. Trooper Board will remain on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the OPR and CID investigations.

Pending the on-going internal investigation, this is all the Department of Safety can release at this time.
