Interstate 40 Interchange at Canada Road

Shelby County

Overview

The proposed improvements to the interchange at Interstate 40 and Canada Road in Shelby County will consist of replacing the current facility with a Single-Point Urban Interchange (SPUI), which involves building a new bridge over I-40 and widening Canada Road for approximately 0.54 miles. Canada Road will be two lanes in each direction with several turning lanes and curb and gutter.

The purpose for this project is to modify the I-40 interchange at Canada Road in order to accommodate current and future traffic demands due to increased commercial and residential development in the area.
