Tennessee has made a commitment to promoting good health in children from birth until age 21. It's called the TENNderCARE program.
TENNderCARE is a full program of check ups and health care services for children who have TennCare. These services make sure babies, children, teens and young adults receive the health care they need. Good health begins at birth, so it’s important to Check In, Check Up and Check Back.

Child Health Week -- October 5-11
Governor Phil Bredesen has proclaimed October 5-11 Child Health Week in Tennessee. This year's theme is: "Healthy Youth, Healthy Future,” and TENNderCare is working diligently with other state agencies to help encourage the health and well-being of TennCare enrollees and all Tennessee children.
As part of Child Health Week, TENNderCare is sponsoring a poster design contest for high school students across the state that relays a message for teens and young adults to know the importance of getting annual checkups. The artwork will be judged and the winning posters will be printed and placed in all middle and high schools throughout the state.
Start thinking now about ways to highlight children's health in your area during this statewide celebration. More information and resources are available at http://www.tennesseeanytime.org/gov/child-health/.
"Every child in Tennessee deserves to grow up healthy and happy.
