State Higher Education Finance Survey

The State Higher Education Finance (SHEF) Survey is a compilation of state appropriations, tuition revenue, enrollments, and other information that construct a national comparison tool for higher education finance. 

Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Affordability Profiles 

Tennessee is a member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), a nonprofit organization with 16 member states that proves a useful resource for member comparisons on varying education aspects, including finances and affordability. The Affordability Profiles explore the relationship between college costs and family resources across all member states. The analyses show that, in 2017, Tennessean families need 25.9 percent of their income to pay for a four-year education. This is lower than both the SREB and national averages. 

Delta Cost Project Database

The Delta Cost Project at American Institutes for Research provides a longitudinal database based on Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) surveys. The database provides a useful opportunity to analyze higher education revenues and expenditures trends.
