  • TWRA WMA Fields
  • WMA small game permit is required on all WMA fields except at Walnut Log, Chambers Creek, and TVA's Harmon Creek Boat Dock Field.
    Unless otherwise listed, dove hunting open with statewide seasons and bag limits.

    Bogota

    Crops planted: 70 acres of sunflowers/ 30 acres of wheat. 

    Hunt dates: Opens at noon, on Sept. 2, for youths (16 and under). Each youth must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult.
    Youth hunters much check in at the White Tent on Barbwire Rd. prior to hunting. NWTF Chapter will be providing hot dogs for lunch at approximately 11:30. 

    Season open Sept. 3 through the remainder of the 1st and 2nd segments of the statewide season. Designated fields only. Rest of the season is open same as statewide, except opens Sept. 3.

    Directions: Travel north on Hwy 78 towards Tiptonville for 7.0 miles.  In Bogota, turn left onto Hwy 103 heading west for 1.2 miles.  Turn left onto Barbwire Rd and proceed for 2.0 miles.  Field is located on the right.

    Bomprezzi Unit of Eagle Lake Refuge 

    Back Field

    Crops planted:  22 acres of millet


    Hunt dates: Dove hunting begins at noon on September 1. Open with the statewide seasons. 

    Directions:  Take North Watkins Northwest out of Frayser.  Turn left on Northaven Dr.  Take to 4 way stop and turn left on Circle Dr.  Follow to it dead ends into Benjenstown Rd.  Take a left on Benjenstown Road.  Go less than a mile and turn right on Billon Road.  When the road makes a hard left, the driveway to parking lot will be in curve.  Note:  Field is located approximately 2.0 miles from parking lot.  ATVs will be allowed only from September 1 thru September 5.  No ATVs are allowed before or after this date.

    Camden
     

    Crops planted :  Field 1: 19 acres of Millet    Field 2: 10 acres of sunflowers and 20 acres of millet    Field 3: 40 acres of acres of millet

    Hunt dates: Dove hunting begins at noon on September 1. Open with the statewide seasons. 

    Directions: (Benton County) - From Camden, take Hwy 70 East and go approximately 3 miles. Turn right (south) on Camden Landing Rd and go approximately 2 miles to where the road forks. Take the right fork and look for the signs to the dove field.

    Cypress Pond Refuge

    Crops planted : 20 acres of sunflowers

    Hunt dates: Open September 1 (12:00 noon)  

    Directions: (SE Decatur County) - From Decaturville take Hwy 100 East.  Turn right onto Mt. Carmel Rd.  Follow Mt. Carmel Rd. until crossing White's Creek.  Then turn left onto Pevahouse Camp Rd.  Follow signs to Cypress Pond Refuge.

    Horns Bluff Refuge

    North Unit:

    Crops planted: 8 acres of wheat top sown
      
    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 (12:00 noon). Open with statewide seasons..

    Directions: (Crockett/Gibson Counties) Take Hwy 54 between Alamo and Trenton, and turn west onto Gibson Wells Rd.  Go 1 mile and turn left onto Lonnie Barber Rd.  Go 1 mile turn left onto Hall Hay Loop Rd.  Go .6 miles to field on left.

    South Unit:

    Crops planted: 9 acres of Sunflowers
      
    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 (12:00 noon). Open with statewide seasons..

    Directions: (Crockett/Gibson Counties) Take Hwy 54 between Alamo and Trenton, Turn West onto HWY 152 then North onto Raleigh Bend Rd then left on Horns Bluff Rd.   Field is on the right in 2.5 miles

    John Tully


    Fullen North Tract- Juvenile Field

    Crops planted: 50 acres of sunflowers.

    Hunt dates:   Open with statewide seasons on September 4th thereafter.

    Directions: Take HWY 51 North out of Covington.  Take a left on HWY 87.  Turn right on Sunk Lake Road.  Turn left on Jim Fullen Road.  Field will be about 2 miles on your right.

    Yankee Bar Tract- Adult Field

    Crops planted: 40 acres of sunflowers. 

    Hunt Dates:  Open Sept. 2nd at noon, statewide season thereafter.

    Directions: Take HWY 51 North out of Covington.  Take a left on HWY 87.  Turn right on Crutcher Lake Road.  Continue past Cold Creek and 4 mile loop.   Field will be on left before sharp curve.

    Meeman-Shelby

    Crops planted: 12.5 acres of millet

    Hunt dates: Opens Saturday, Sept. 2nd and is only open for hunting on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday within the statewide season.  State Park permit is also REQUIRED.


    Directions: Take North Watkins Northwest out of Frayser until it dead ends. Take a left. Go straight through 4-way stop. Turn right into park entrance. Go to stop sign and take a right. Go approximately 1.5 miles and turn left on the Checking Station Road. Go past checking station 2.5 miles until you reach the field at the end of the road.

    Moss Island

    Crops planted: 45 acres of sunflowers and 25 acres of wheat 

    Hunt dates: Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1. Open with the statewide seasons.

    Directions: From Dyersburg, Travel west on 155 . Take Exit 2 and turn left onto Hwy 181 heading south for 12.0 miles. Turn left onto Moss Island Road and proceed 1.2 miles. Field is on the right.

    Natchez Trace State Forest

    Spanish Grove

    Crops planted : 8 acres of sunflowers

    Hunt dates: Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1. Open with the statewide seasons. 

    Directions:  Take HWY 114 to Maple creek and turn on Howell Rd to the dove field.

    Obion River

    Beech Ridge Area

    Crops planted :  Total 50 acres, 25 acres burnt wheat and 25  acres of sunflowers

    Hunt dates: Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1. Open with the statewide seasons. 

    Directions: Off Hwy 89 between Kenton and Sidonia on Beech Ridge Rd

    Parker Branch

    Crops planted:  9 acres of sunflowers  and 3 acres of burned wheat

    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 at 12:00 noon. Same as the statewide seasons.

    Directions: From Trenton, take Hwy. 186 and go 3.3 miles toward Gibson. WMA is on the left.

    Thorny Cypress

    Crops planted:  30 acres of sunflowers.

    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 at 12:00 noon. Same as the statewide seasons.

    Directions: From Dyersburg –Travel west on 155 towards Caruthersville Missouri. Take Exit 2 and turn right onto Hwy 181.  Then make a right on Boothspoint road.  Travel to end of road and field is located on left.

    Three Rivers

    Crops planted:  Total of 50 acres. 30 acres of sunflowers and 5 acres of burnt wheat.

    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 at 12:00 noon. Same as the statewide seasons.

    Directions: Between Kenton and Union City on Hwy 45 N. Turn into area at Obion River off Hwy 45 N.

    Tigrett (Bishop Lake)

    Crops planted: 7 acres of sunflowers

    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 at 12:00 noon. Same as the statewide seasons.

    Directions: From Dyersburg take Hwy 412 E. Go about 3 miles and turn left on Beaver Rd. Go .5 miles to field.

    Tumbleweed

    Crops planted: 55 acres of sunflowers.

    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 at 12:00 noon. Same as the statewide seasons.

    Directions: Travel west on 155 . Take Exit 2 and turn right onto Hwy. 181 heading north for 7.4 miles. Turn right onto Parker Road and proceed 0.5 miles. Field and parking area will be located on right.

    Walnut Log TWRA Lands (Reelfoot Area)

    Crops planted : 24 acres of winter wheat and millet

    Hunt dates: Opens September 1 at 12:00 noon. Same as the statewide seasons.

    Directions: Field located off Hwy. 157 behind the USFWS Reelfoot Refuge office.

    White Oak


    McCollough

    Crops planted : 5 acres of sunflowers and 5 acres of wheat burned

    Hunt dates: Open Sept. 1 (12:00 noon) and remainder of statewide season.

    Directions: (Northwest Hardin County) - From Coffee Landing Rd in Morris Chapel turn north on Pisgah Lane which is across from the Morris Chapel Volunteer Fire Department.  Stay to the right at the split in the road then take the second road to the left which is McCollough Road. The WMA road to the dove field will be on the right.

    Orr Lane

    Crops planted: 10 acres of sunflowers , 10 acres of wheat top sown and 5 acres of millet burned

    Hunt dates: Open Sept. 1 (12:00 noon) and remainder of statewide season.

    Directions: Turn east off of Coffee Landing Rd. toward Saltillo on Glendale Rd., go 4.5 miles turn left onto St. Paul Loop Go 1.3 miles turn left onto Orr Lane. Field is .7 miles at end of Orr Ln.

    Directions: (Rossville) - From Hwy 57 in Rossville take Hwy 194 North, turn left on Johnson Rd. Dove field is at the end of Johnson Rd.
