Haley-Jaqueth WMA Youth Hunt

Haley-Jaqueth WMA in College Grove will have a youth dove hunt September 6, 2014 for youth only ages 6-16 accompanied by a nonhunting adult. Shooting from staked positions only (there are forty). Pre-registration required by contacting John Parks. After 12:00 noon, vacant staked positions will be first come, first serve.

Remember shotgun plugs and Migratory Bird Permit. Hunter Education required for those born on or after January, 1, 1969.

Bark Camp Barrens WMA

Crops planted: 40 acres sunflower, 18 acres millet, bareground.

Hunt Dates: Open with statewide seasons.

Directions: (Coffee County) - Take Exit 114 off of I-24 to Hwy. 41 south. Turn left onto Asbury Road, then onto Clifton Scott Road. Turn right onto Warren Road and Bark Camp Barrens WMA is on the left. There will be dove field signs starting on Asbury Road.

WMA small game permit is required.

Cheatham WMA

Crops planted : 20 acres in two fields - corn and wheat.

Cheatham Lake WMA

Crops planted: 25 acres of wheat and corn.

Hunt Dates: Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1). Hunting allowed from designated fields only.

Directions: (Cheatham County) - Marrowbone bottom off Hwy.12 in Ashland City.

Haley-Jaqueth WMA

Crops planted: 20 acres of wheat.

Hunt Dates: Youth hunt is on Sept. 6. Adults may hunt Sept. 8 and every Saturday thereafter.

Directions: (Williamson County) - From 840, take Exit 42 South (Lewisburg/Shelbyville) on Hwy. 31A/41A. Stay on Hwy. 31A/41A and when you come to the Hwy. 31A/41A split, take Hwy. 31A and go 0.7 mile. The dove field will be on the left (east side).

Haynes Bottom WMA

Crops planted : 35 acres of sunflowers and millet.

Hunt Dates: Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1). Hunting allowed from designated fields only.

Directions: (Montgomery County) - At the end of Woodrow Road in the Dodsonville Community.

Laurel Hill WMA

Crops planted: 50 acres of wheat and silage.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (noon - sunset), can arrive anytime. Open with the statewide seasons, except closed, at sunset, the day before and during big game hunts.  

Directions: (Lawrence County) Napier Rd.  Behind old checking Station (291 Napier Rd Lawrenceburg TN is address next door). From Summertown, take Hwy. 20 to State Road 240. Go approximately 8.5 miles and turn right on State Road 241 North. Go approximatley 3 miles.

Old Hickory WMA At Barton's Creek

Crops planted : 35 acres of wheat. 

Hunt Dates: Young Sportsman Dove Hunt on Barton's Creek Peninsula (Youth/Adult only) - September 6 (6:00 a.m. - sunset). Lead shot permitted. Each young sportsman must be accompanied by an adult who may also hunt. Opens September 7 for all ages.

Directions: Located off North Denny Road in Wilson County.

Owl Hollow Mill WMA

Crops planted: 30 acres of wheat, millet, sunflower.

Hunt Dates: Sept. 6 - Young Sportsman Only Dove Hunt. Each young sportsman (6-16 years of age) must be accompanied by a licensed non-hunting adult.

Sept. 7 - Open to all ages through the remainder of the season.

Directions: From I-24, take Exit 127 and follow Hwy. 64/50 west approximately 15 miles. Exit onto Hwy. 41A/64 North (Cowan Hwy.). Go 2.5 miles to Winchester Square. Follow Hwy. 50 West signs approximately 4 miles. Turn right on Maple Bend Road. The field is 1 mile ahead at the end of Maple Bend Road. (the road will trurn from pavement to gravel).

Percy Priest Unit 1

Crops planted: 45 acres of wheat. 

Hunt Dates: Opens September 1 (noon - sunset). Shooting from staked positions only. On September 1, staked positions will be assigned by a drawing. Registration begins at 7am with the drawing held on-site at 10:00a.m. Successful Applicants must be on their staked position at the start of shooting hours. Hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt. Open Saturdays and Sundays only during the first and second segments.

Directions: (Davidson/Rutherford/Wilson counties) From Nashville, take I-24 east to Exit 64 (Waldron Rd.); turn right off the exit; turn right on Murfreesboro Rd; turn left on Fergus Road at a Clayton Mobile Homes Sales Park; go 3/4 mile and turn right on Jones Mill Rd; follow the dove hunting signs.

Williamsport

Crops planted: 40 acres of wheat.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (noon - sunset), stake positions, & thereafter every Saturday. On September 1, staked positions will be assigned by a drawing. Registration begins at 7am with the drawing held on-site at 10:00a.m. Successful Applicants must be on their staked position at the start of shooting hours. Hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt.

Directions: From Columbia, take Hwy. 50 to Williamsport. Cross the Duck River Bridge and turn right on Snow Creek Road. Go a few miles and turn left onto Leiper's Creek Road (this is the 1st left). The dove field will be down the road a few miles on the left. Signs will be available. Parking is in designated area. No parking on the side of the road. There will be personnel present to direct you to the parking areas.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (noon - sunset), open everyday with statewide seasons.

Directions:  (Maury County) - From Nashville, take I-65 south to Hwy. 50. Go west on Hwy. 50 until you reach Fred White Road. Turn right onto Fred White Road. Go down the road until you see the parking lot signs. The field is on both sides of Fred White Road just before you get to the Howard Bridge. Parking is allowed only in two designated parking lots. No parking on the side of the road.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (starts at noon), 6, 7

Directions: Hwy 231/431 S. in Fayetteville turn West on Molino Rd. approx. 6 miles then right on John Campbell Rd., turn right just past rock house before the dead end at the Old Pearl City Bridge. Follow signs to the field.

Lincoln County Leased Field 2

Williams Farm

Crops planted: 78 acres: 28 top sown wheat & 50 millet hay

Hunt Dates: September 1 (starts at noon), 6, 7

Directions: Hwy. 431 North of Fayetteville, Left on South Fishing Ford Rd., Left on Williams Rd. Look for signs.

Riley Bros Farm

Crops planted: 160 acre shelled corn and top sown wheat.

Hunt Dates: Sept 1, 6, 7 - hunting starts at noon each day.

Directions: From Adams take Hwy 41N about three miles, turn left on Sadlersville Road to Riley Bros Farm approx. ¼ mile on right.

Wilson County Leased Field 1

Howard Farm

Crops planted: 20 acres cut silage with top-sown wheat.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (starts at noon), 6, 7

Directions: From Lebanon take Hwy 266 (Cainsville Rd) south, at the Rutherford County line turn left (east) on Oregon Road, field will be on the left.  Follow signs.

Wilson County Leased Field 2

Stratton Bone Farm

Crops planted: 40 acres cut silage with sown wheat.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (starts at noon), 6, 7

Directions: From Lebanon go east on Hwy 70N approximately 2.5-3 miles, turn left (north) onto Spring Creek Road and follow signs.

Wilson County Leased Field 3

Gordon Bone Farm

Crops planted: 40 acres cut silage with sown wheat.

Hunt Dates: September 1 (starts at noon), 6, 7

Directions: From Lebanon go east on Hwy 70 N approximately 3.5 miles, veer left onto Old Rome Pike, approximately 1.5 miles turn left (north) onto Phillips Rd and follow signs.

Directions: From I-40 East take Lebanon/Watertown Exit, go towards Watertown to Hearn Hill Road, turn right, go 1 mile to field on the right
