Volunteer Tennessee Seeks input for 2019-2021 State Plan

Volunteer Tennessee, the Governor’s commission on volunteerism and service, seeks public input
to develop a new State Plan that will set the agency’s strategic direction for
the next three years.  Once developed, the new State Plan will advocate service and volunteerism as strategies to meet
critical community needs, including service through programs funded under
National Service laws.

Representatives of current National Service programs, community-based and faith-based organizations and interested citizens are invited to submit their views at one of six regional meetings.  "Volunteer Tennessee State Plan Listening Sessions" will be held on the following dates:

*Memphis - Friday, July 20 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. CDT at Porter-Leath, 850 N. Manassas Street, Memphis Tennessee 38107;

*Jackson - Friday, July 20 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. CDT at Jackson Central-Merry Early College High School, 215 Allen Avenue, Jackson, Tennessee 38301;

*Knoxville - Tuesday, July 24 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. EDT at Emerald Youth Foundation, 1014 Heiskell Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37921;

*Chattanooga - Wednesday, July 25 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. EDT at the AIM Center, 472 West ML King Boulevard, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402;

*Cookeville - Friday, July 27 from 10:00 a.m. – noon CDT at Progressive Savings Bank, 1080 Interstate Drive, Cookeville, Tennessee 38501; and

*Nashville – Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. CDT at Hands On Nashville37 Peabody Street, Suite 201, Nashville, TN 37210
