The Title IV-E Tuition Assistance Program of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) intends to:
a) Recruit and develop social work students who are committed to working in child welfare into the DCS workforce.
b) Promote the professionalization of DCS staff through advanced social work education.

The Title IV-E BSW/BSSW Tuition Assistance Program provides financial support to selected undergraduate-level social work majors who are committed to working with the children and families served by DCS upon completion of their Bachelor of Social Work/Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW/BSSW) degree at a participating university.

The Title IV-E MSW/MSSW Tuition Assistance Program provides financial support to DCS employees who desire to enrich the knowledge, skills, and abilities they bring to the Department by obtaining a Master of Social Work / Master of Science in Social Work (MSW/MSSW) degree from a participating university.
