Tennessee Forestry Commission to Meet

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet October 14 in conjunction with the Tennessee Forestry Association Annual Conference.

The meeting will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. eastern time at the Chattanooga Marriott Downtown located at Two Carter Plaza in Chattanooga. The phone number for the hotel is 423-756-0002.  

The agenda includes a report on management of Tennessee’s state forests and the rotation of pine species, budget planning, national forestry matters and federal grants, and the annual report. Industry representatives will also attend to discuss issues and concerns. The meeting is open to the public.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as they relate to forest resources in the state. The commission advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on forest issues. For more information, contact TDA’s Division of Forestry at 615-837-5520.
