Milan Market Serves up Fresh Produce, New Look, Great Options

Thursday, July 09, 2015 | 10:51am

NASHVILLE— Pick Tennessee Products will be at the Milan Farmers Market for a special media day Friday, July 10. Media will have access to the market’s vendors and farmers for interviews, and the market area will provide colorful images and video. As part of the celebration, the market is offering free samples of watermelon at 10 a.m.

Milan’s farmers market is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. every week, with a “Pick Tennessee” emphasis on Fridays and Saturdays.  The market opened for the 2015 season in a brand new pavilion.

Another new feature for the market is their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box option.  CSA boxes come pre-filled with produce and farm products from the market’s local vendors. The contents of the box change weekly as the season progresses, assuring the freshest produce possible from West Tennessee farms. Each box also includes freshly baked bread and locally raised meats.

The CSA boxes are ready for pickup on Saturdays, but home delivery is also available. To sign up for a Milan Farmers Market CSA box, customers should contact Kerry Claros at Kerry@farmersmarketmilan.com. The cost for each box is $30.
