NASHVILLE— The Morristown Farmers Market will host a special media day at their new pavilion on Saturday, September 19. Farmers, vendors and elected officials will be on hand for interviews and the market activities and children’s treasure hunt will provide opportunities for vibrant video and photos.

The regional market is open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Farmers and customers come from all across upper East Tennessee. The market also serves as an incubator for a startup business selling Amish hot dogs.

On September 19, Appalachian Bakery will be there, as well as craft vendors and a farmer who specializes in Hispanic fruits and vegetables. All Main Street merchants will display green and yellow balloons to acknowledge the special farmers market activities.

The market has been working with FFA chapters from Morristown West and East High Schools, providing equipment and educational tips from Brenda Sutton, “The Produce Lady.” Both chapters will host booths for the media day.

Pick Tennessee Products will give away a basket of Tennessee foods and hand out free seasonal recipe cards and Farm Measures to Kitchen Measures charts to help customers best use the produce they purchase.
