Tennessee Forestry Commission to Meet

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet Feb. 22 at the Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, Tenn.

The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. CST in the conference room of the Bruer Building.

The agenda includes a review of the governor’s proposed budget, proposed legislation to be discussed this legislative session, third-party certification for state forests, restructuring of staff in the Nashville office and seedling sales. Lunch will be followed by travel to Legislative Plaza where the commission will deliver its annual report to the Senate Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.

The meeting is open to the public.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as they relate to forest resources in the state. The commission advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on forest issues. For more information, contact TDA’s Division of Forestry at 615-837-5520.
