State Soil Conservation Committee to Meet

NASHVILLE - The State Soil Conservation Committee will meet December 9 at 12 p.m. CST at the Marriott Cool Springs Hotel located at 700 Cool Springs Blvd. in Franklin, Tenn.

The agenda includes approval of the previous meeting minutes, updates from ex officio members, reports from partner agencies and organizations, discussion of soil conservation district statutes and board nominees, and general discussion. The meeting is open to the public.

The SSCC was created by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1939 for the purpose of assisting in the development of local soil conservation districts. The committee advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on matters pertaining to soil conservation and water quality improvement.
