Tennessee Soil and Water Conservation Commission to Meet

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Soil and Water Conservation Commission will meet Aug. 7, 2022 in Knoxville, Tenn.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. EDT at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 401 West Summit Hill Dr.

The meeting is open to the public to attend. Participants may join in person or via an internet-based teleconferencing system. There is no cost to participants. Instructions on how to join the meeting are at the bottom of this notice.

The agenda includes approval of the previous meeting’s minutes and reports from partner agencies, organizations, and ex-officio members. The five-year Action Plan for Soil Conservation will also be presented.

The Tennessee General Assembly created the commission in 1939 to assist in developing local soil conservation districts. Today the commission advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on matters of soil conservation and water quality improvement.
