Nashville- Attorneys General Josh Stein (NC), Herbert H. Slatery III (TN), Josh Shapiro (PA), and Ken Paxton (TX) released the following statement in response to news of an opioid settlement with two Ohio counties and McKesson, Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen and Teva:

“This is an important step that allows us to move forward toward the global settlement and ensure people struggling with opioid addiction across the country get the help they need as soon as possible. The global resolution on the table will distribute funds fairly between states, counties and cities while also ensuring that these companies change their business practices to prevent a public health crisis like this from ever happening again. We will continue to work with all parties over the coming weeks to find a resolution and recover for the millions of Americans impacted by this epidemic.”
