Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI) assists patients who are not typically served by the private service sector and have no other inpatient treatment resources available to them. Most patients have a severe and persistent mental illness and are hospitalized on an emergency involuntary basis. The hospital is an authorized provider under TennCare.

Patients are provided with individualized care that is centered on compassion and quality. Each patient care team consists of a psychiatrist, a social worker, nursing staff, and a treatment team coordinator. Patients also have access to a Recreational Therapist and medical personnel as well. The staff works together with patients to help facilitate the individual’s transition back to the community. Additionally, Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute offers:

  • Internal Medicine Services
  • Beautician Services
  • Laboratory Services
  •  Pastoral Care
  •  Pharmacy Services
  • Dietician Services
