State Fire Marshal’s Office Plans East Tennessee Town Hall Meetings

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) is holding a series of Town Hall meetings across the state to explain and discuss upcoming proposed changes to residential building codes with community members. The meetings will give community members an opportunity to ask questions and interact with SFMO staff.

Currently, the Notice of Rulemaking to amend Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0780-02-23 [One and Two-Family Dwellings and Townhouses] by the Division of Fire Prevention is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 in the 6th Floor Conference Room of the Davy Crockett Tower at 500 James Robertson Parkway Nashville, TN 37243.

“The State Fire Marshal’s Office takes our commitment to Tennessee communities seriously,” said Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance Deputy Commissioner Gary West, who oversees the Fire Prevention Division. “We want to hear from community leaders now about the changes that will impact their communities.”
