State, Local Agencies Partner to Provide Shred-It/Drug Take-Back in Jackson on June 9

TDCI to Participate in Event Aimed at Protecting, Educating Consumers

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s Division of Consumer Affairs announces a free document shredding/drug takeback event in Jackson on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (CDT). Residents of Madison County and surrounding areas will have an opportunity to safely dispose of expired or unneeded medications and shred their personal documents or records during an event aimed at promoting identity theft prevention and consumer protection.

Documents suggested for shredding include outdated credit card statements, utility bills, investment documents, tax forms, loan documents, medical records, insurance documents, employment documents, and more.

If you are disposing of prescription medications, be sure to mark out any personal information on the label. Education materials will be available for attendees.
