Harts Mill WMA

Directions and Description


Site Directions: if you are coming from Bradford, Tennessee, take TN 105 E for approximately 9 miles. You will pass a WMA entrance on the left (north) side of the road, if you turn left onto Hart's Mill Bridge Road, there are multiple access points off of Hart's Mill Bridge Road. The WMA extends east and touches TN 190, where there is a parking lot.  Lat: 36.059653, Long: -88.665491 

The WMA is open year-round, during daylight hours, to foot traffic only when gates are closed. Entrance gates will be open during hunting seasons, but may be closed without prior notice for safety and management reasons. Please note hunting seasons.

Access to the WMA is free however, hunting, fishing, or recreational licensing fees may apply.

Hart's Mill WMA is located in Northwest Carroll County and Southeast Weakley County,  along the South Fork of the Obion River off Hwy. 190. The WMA is approximately 1,758 acres and is dominated by bottomland hardwood forests and cypress/tupelo swamps.  The WMA has both the “new” dredged river channel and the old river meander in it, as well as numerous sloughs and oxbows.  You can find several early successional fields along Harts Mill Bridge Rd.

Big Game, Small Game, and Trapping -  Same as statewide seasons, except as noted below.

Fall Turkey - Closed.

Spring Turkey – One non-quota hunt: April 12 - May 4, 2025. One male bearded turkey counts toward the statewide bag limit.

Turkey (Young Sportsman) – Same as statewide season.
