Lick Creek WMA

Directions and Description


Site Directions: from Big Sandy Tennessee take TN-69A to Lick Creek Road for approximately 7.1 miles, turn right onto Doherty Store Road and follow it for 1.3 miles, then turn left onto Chapel Road, the road dead-ends at the entrance of the WMA.  This is the only access point for the WMA.  Lat-Long: 36.318559°N   -88.014819°W

The WMA is open year-round during daylight hours, please note hunting seasons. ATVs are not permitted. Access is by foot only and is free however hunting, fishing, or recreational licensing fees may apply.

Lick Creek WMA is located in Benton County Tennessee and is approximately 198 acres.  The WMA consists of upland hardwoods and thickets.  Wildlife viewing opportunities are limited due to the lack of road access and are by foot only.  Deerturkey, and furbearers are abundant. Small game such as rabbits and woodcock are common due to the terrain.

CWD Carcass Transportation Regulations Apply

Big Game, Small Game, and Trapping are the same as statewide, except where noted below.

Fall Turkey - Closed.

Spring Turkey - One non-quota hunt: April 12–May 4, 2025. One (1) male bearded turkey, counts toward statewide bag limit.

Turkey (Young Sportsman) - Same as statewide season.

Waterfowl - hunting is allowed from temporary blinds only which must be removed at the end of the day. No blinds, blind materials, boats, or decoys may be left overnight.
