PIKEVILLE - Bledsoe County Correctional Complex Warden Doug Cook, a 32-year veteran of the Tennessee Department of Correction, has passed away of apparent natural causes at his home.

Warden Cook began his career with TDOC in 1984 as a Correctional Officer at Morgan County Regional.  Widely respected for his dedication and positive outlook, he was quickly promoted and attained the rank of Captain in 2000.  He was named as Associate Warden at Morgan County Correctional Complex in March 2014, before being appointed Warden at Bledsoe County Correctional Complex in December 2014.

“Doug Cook devoted his life to the service of others; his family, his colleagues and the people of Tennessee.  He will be deeply missed, and our prayers are with his family and friends,” said TDOC Commissioner Tony Parker.
